Hey my loveliess. Long time no letter. I kind of disappeared oops.
I have been on a hiatus unintentionally and so I’m starting to slowly get back into posting again not just here but on my other social media platforms. I’m starting here because it’s really the easiest and my favorite of them all. I know you all have missed me and I do apologize for just disappearing but I can’t promise it won’t happen again. Next time I’ll make sure to give a heads up because that’s not very professional of me. I value you and your time and if I said every week then that’s what it should be and if it’s going to change then I need to let you all know. I hope you can forgive me someday. Also this is the tenth entry of Foreknown. I’m super proud of myself for even making it this far despite all the odds. Help me thank God.
What have I been up to in these past weeks you may be wondering. Well I’ve been spectating and not participating because to be real with you participating takes a lot of work. One thing I’ve been doing though is enjoying spending time with my family and just living in the moment.
Proof of life.
There’s a certain satisfaction you get from just watching someone do the things you want to do and not doing them yourself.
Just like when you’re watching a sports match of your favorite team. Their win is your win and their loss feels like your loss even though you didn’t participate at all. You’re satisfied and your mind is tricked into feeling like if you were on the pitch things would have gone the same way or even better. But we all know how untrue that is.
It’s the same as when you watch productivity videos that are meant to “help” you be productive but for some reason the video itself has made you feel like you’re already a productive person and your duties for the day are done.
There’s a certain level of intentionality it takes to actually be an active participant in your own life and that’s where the problem lies.
Intentionality is very powerful because once your intentions are set and actions follow, you see yourself actually living your life and not just watching it. But setting intentions means you have to face yourself. Face your limiting beliefs, your bad habits and so on. This is where the friction is because it’s hard work.
What’s the difference between a footballer and a football fan? The pitch. One decided to actually get on the pitch. But if we zoom in a little bit more, the footballer has to set intentions. He has to decide to get up earlier than most and train. He has to decide to eat a healthy meal. He has to decide to sacrifice his time. He constantly has to make decisions.
This can be easily applied to your walk with God. You’ve lost your fire but you’re satisfied with seeing everyone else burn and be radical for Jesus. It’s so easy to watch people run their race, sometimes it’s even entertaining but what about yours? Why just watch the match and not be in the ring? Why just live an ordinary life when you can live an extraordinary one. One thing I’m continuously forcing my flesh to come to terms with is that I am not normal. I am not regular. You read the Bible and you see some crazy extraordinary things and extraordinary people in the Old Testament. These people didn’t even have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them. Is it then I who has Jesus living inside of me that should be normal? It’s not possible. It can’t be possible. But the thing is these irregular people had to pay a price. What price are you paying dearest reader?
So there’s serious work to be done. You don’t have to be on the sidelines watching people achieve their dreams and their goals. You can do it too! It’s possible but your mindset really has a big role to play, so in the next letter I’m going to touch on overcoming limiting beliefs and if your not subscribed make sure you do so you don’t miss out!
